Reasoning Behind the Name

For a little while now I've been thinking about starting a blog.  I keep putting it off because I know how bad I am at keeping up with things like this.  I have a bad history.  For instance, I have a least five journals that I can think of off the top of my head that have the first quarter or maybe even half filled when I attempted to start a diary.  It always fails.  I guess I have a commitment problem with writing.  But I'm going to try to keep with it this time.

The reason I called my blog Heart and Soul is that I want this blog to just be about the everyday things that make up my life - the heart and soul of it.  I'm going to have a wide variety of things on this blog.  I'm a Christian, a wife, a daughter, and a nurse.  Some days I'll probably just write about recent events, but other days I may post house-wifey things such as recipes I've tried or furniture that I like.  Also, photography is a big hobby of mine.  Though I have taken a wide variety of pictures, I haven't ever really posted of them anywhere for anybody to look at.  Therefore, I imagine this blog could be filled with the results of my photography adventures.  Last, but definitely not least, I first thought up of this blog title because I was trying to think of a song that I like to use as a title.  Well, for some reason, I thought of that old piano duet that almost everyone learns when they are a kid - whether or not they ever had "real" piano lessons.  It's actually a little-known fact among most people my age that that particular song actually has lyrics and is called Heart and Soul.  I can never remember the real words to that song.  My father has this tendency to substitute in his own lyrics into songs and those are the lyrics I always remember.  Therefore, to me the song will always go, "Heart and Soul, I've got just one of each..."
